I've never used a DSLR for Astro imaging before so when I got my new Canon EOS450D I couldn't wait to get out and give it a try. So far I'm very impressed, this was just a test image at only 3 x 60sec exposures at 1600 and I think the info it picked up is truly amazing. It was taken with a Skywatcher Startravel 80T that I bought as a guidescope but love the widefield view it gives

Hi Dave,
It's amazing isn't it. I haven't spent a lot of time using a DSLR for astrophotography but they are certainly more than capable of getting great images. There are lots of good resources (reading) around on how to get the most out of a digital slr.
