yep that is a dream scope hehe they say will be up for 2020 i think..
an other one that i read about and seem not to be able to find where hehe is that they wana build in the south pole there a place there that is very high and very colm winds very dince and cold but they say would be the best place for a scope,,

That makes perfect sense OZZ!
the colder the air the better the seeing!
I would think that a constant temp would be great, but thats way to cold for me! I would love to scan the Southern Hemisphere skies even with just a pair of binos! I have been as far as S Africa, the skies were unbelievably dark back in the 70's.

Hi Guys!
I just read in Astronomy magazine that they are building a 30 meter Telescope, they dont get into to many details, but thats got to be the biggest yet!

Hi OZZ!
they dont list the 30 meter one, is it because its just not built yet? I did find the info in Astronomy MAG and they are lately making quite a few mistakes not to mention maybe a lttle to biased and in comp with S&T.
its more like an advertising Mag, not what it used to be
did you read the binoc section thats a bold statement from phil

We Should all have one in our back yards!
but we probably need a bank account like Bill Gates has!

can you imagine how much work it is to keep any of those large scopes clean!
