Question 2008 Star Parties - Post Your 2008 Star Party

Hi All,

If any members (or new members ) come across any astronomy related events such as Star Parties or astronomy related lectures and events for 2008, please post them in this forum. It doesn't matter whether its just local to your area, city, or club. People who travel, and are interested in astronomy, are often looking for a Star Party or interesting event to attend. I have searched the internet for parties and astrophotography lectures to attend myself when I am planning on visiting a different city. If they are posted a few weeks ahead of time you may get some free advertising for it, once the post gets indexed.

Regards,

Hi Jim,

Welcome to Extreme Astronomy,

I have created a new thread for the NSP Star Party so it will get more attention.

Regards,
Darryl

Well if you happen to find yourself in the great state of New Hampshire, On the first Friday of every month, The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Concord, has a public sky watch that the members of the New Hampshire Astronomical Society put on for any visitors during and after the planetarium show, I believe its called super stellar Friday.
Here is a link, The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium.

Hi Dennis,

I think they are two different events. I just made a new thread for the NHAS's event for a little better exposure. Was that the group you wanted to mainly provide the information for, or was it the planetarium?

Hi Darryl,

Although it seems like two separate events, its the New Hampshire Astronomical Society that actually sets up the telescopes for patrons and visitors of the Planetarium, We are closely asssociated with each other, we set up before the show starts and we usually are there unitl way after the planetarium is closed.

The arrangement benefits both NHAS and The Christa Mc Auliffe Planetarium, as long as the weather is clear the telecopes are there regardless of whether or not you pay to see the show, All of our events are free and open to the public, But not the planetarium for that there is an admission fee, you dont have to go to the show to attend the public skywatch

Thanks Dennis

Hi Dennis,

I'll just leave the new thread the way it is then. Thanks for clarifying.
