Talking saturn feb 2007

Hi guys took out the scope last nite, was kind of cold but not so bad.
put the web cam on and did a few runs but my battries ran out real fast so was only able to get 2 vids, ran in registax 800 frames took best 200 and got this pic , i guess its ok . i had a hard time with focus, i guess its alright

Nice image. Saturn is such a great and interesting object to image.

I moved it to your section in the Astrophotography gallery. Could you please put any images you want to show. If you want to link to it from inside a post just use the BB IMG code the gallery provides to display it inside a post if you like.

very fine image by you. was there a slight mis adjustment of aperchure of the telescope, or may be not, the image may be receive due to the long distance also. very nice image. by U Ozz'.

i do think that i was out of focus, but maybe also am out of collimation
will have to point the scope at a star soon too see how close i am..

thanks,Ozzmoziz. anyway to take a snap of the remote planet is not a joke for it lot of concentration and preparation is needed, thanks once again for showing the photo of a beautiful planet in our solar system.

yes lots and lots of preperation , bring the tripod out side then atatching the sope on it and align it to the north star
then putting the cam on and running the wiresthrough the window yes the window hehe.
connecting the drive wire through window too hehe.
then wait for half an hr or so
and then ur set got to find an object and take movie .
but thats all in the past getting my laptop tonight yay!!!

Nice Shot OZZ!
I can the the Encke division clearly,
have you tried any sharpening algorithms with any other software?
You gotta love the efficiency of a simple web cam on the planets.
I have software that may be able to clear things up a bit more, do you mind if I try?
