Lunar Picture Of the Day
By now we're all familiar with the APOD (Astronomy Picture Of the Day), but how about the LPOD? There are some wonderful and inspiring Moon images there worthy of attention! I just discovered this site and thought I'd mention it in case any of you haven't seen it before. One of the best parts is that you can submit your own photos of the Moon for consideration. Below is an excerpt from their photo gallery commentary.

Welcome to a growing collection of images of the Moon. The goal is to include one or more pictures of every feature on the lunar surface. The Gallery is becoming increasingly valuable as a reference as more images are included. You are invited to add your own images to the gallery by clicking here or on the LPOD Gallery link to the right.

To add images you must register (sorry, it is separate from the LPOD registration) but it is easy. Please do not start a new gallery but add to the main one with all the images. Please keep images smaller than 1 Mb.
