It means that anything that does not dominate it's orbit is not considered a planet. And yes, that is subject to argument.

Yeah, since they're saying Pluto doesn't dominate its space because it crosses Neptune's orbit ... but then why is Neptune a planet since it crosses Pluto's orbit? Just 'cause it's bigger? Sigh ...

At this point, I just gotta say that we should all be duly impressed by and thankful for the esteemed IAU's final decision (if there actually is one forthcoming soon) - it will still most likely provide enough fodder for the birth of an entirely new galaxy. . . . of forum discussions.

Probably because it's not a Pluton, the things being omitted were under the category of Pluton, no? Probably only applies to that criteria...
