Probably comet also is a sort of food for Sun

Just Saying for the sake. :

The comets are carrying lot of contents with and it may be possible that they are becoming in use for the "sun's functioning" in the sky. Do you think so? The debris of the comets are adjoining the lost mass of the sun in the previous actions over there.

Because most of the comets journey from the Oort cloud to the sun, few of them only caught in gravity like jupiter-shumaker levy comet.

Do you think that Sun is using such stuff into its every time burning process! in such way may be there is a great possibility to keep "the status co ante " of Sun.

Sunil (I have attached self made image just for the illustration, and sun shown in the faint colours, just to view softly)

Though I'm sure many comets and other debris constantly make contact with the sun, I believe that this does very little in ways of "maintaining the mass of the sun" let alone what the sun needs to keep burning. Most of the materials found in comets and asteroids (as far as we know) are not "combustable" or radioactive. The do not carry large amounts of energy, besides kenetic =p. Though its a nice thought that maybe the sun will somehow last longer than our calculations predict, I don't believe this this will be any real contribution. A nice idea though =)

Clear Skies, Buldric

P.S. By our closest calculations, the sun sheds approx. 100 million tons of matter per second(not a typo). Even to retain mass, that would be a LOT of comets/kupier belt objects =p

Thank you Buldric for taken immidiate action on the topic and gave a nice reply here. It depend upon the larger mass of the comet though, because a less mass comet does not keep any meaning to adjoin within the mass of sun.

Even a large mass comet wouldn't really matter =p. Somehow even though I would most definately believe there are comets constantly hitting the sun, I fail to believe that there is 100 million tons worth of comets/asteroids hitting the sun every second. In fact, their would need to be MUCH more than that per second to get that much combustable material back(which the sun shed).

Clear skies,
Buldric

well, its ok. there may be several contents adding or directly gone in a plasma state of matter immediately when the comet strucks with the sun. Thanks buldric for your precious reply. Do you think that a frequent comet visit to sun adding some pollutant content into the sun's perryphery !!
