Well, this is an out-of-expertise comment for me, but I think disposal of waste is a relatively minor enviromental problem, with changes in the composition in the atmosphere and habitat destruction being the biggies. But that's just my thought...

I think we need to practice better management of waste myself, making recycling a very serious project for the world to take on, creating jobs and limiting non-reused waste...

Yes, Nikita's Shoe, you're right - with contemporary technologies it's more profitable to leave our junk where it is instead of shooting it into space. And you're right about recycling - it would be a lot better as we would have even some profit out of it, as we'd be able to produce something useful again.

However, recycling is quite an Utopian thing in modern society. No one bothers, because they'll be dead by the time any serious problems occur.

chernobil like events will not appear on the earth when we drop all N particles and related material including waste material on moon, this will be the best option, but today's alarming problem, that is energy crisis and for this seck we cannot drop all N on moon. (here N means nuclear items)

Forcing it as a law perhaps? And then remove the current garbage disposal systems so that they have to take is somewhere.

That should certainly hit the places that need it most-Cities.

It is the law where I live, and was in a few other places I lived too.

Ok then, suppose we don't recycle and just start living on our mountains of crap and eventually destroy the ecosystem with pollution and contamination.

Then what?
