You gotta burn quite a lot of fuel to make it fall into sun first. Slowing the junk enough to make its orbit cross Sun is difficult, believe me

sun? not too sure we being sending nuclear waste to the sun how much waste does it take to disturb the balance of the sun? i say after a while it may effect it and end up screwing up the elements, but a dead planet like jupiter well ur just adding a few tones of waste, i wonder what that would do that there too,,,?

Sunil, maybe that would be not a bad idea at all, but costs seem to huge for me. Remember that you'd have to make it fall to the Sun. That's not easy, that junk would rather stay in Earth's orbit if not slowed down...

The best way for junk is, without doubt, recycling. There's nothing better than that. Not even throwing your junk into open space.

What about Venus? The atmosphere is sulfuric acid, right? I know the Russian rovers didn't last very long on the surface.

I don't understand... Wouldn't the Sun's gravity take care of that? (Assuming that you put it on a rocket aimed at the sun [leaving Earth's orbit])
Why would you have to slow it (the junk) down?

I believe it has to do with solar wind, but I didn't think that i very strong, I don't see a thing wrong with it.
