Solar Storm Warning

http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2...htm?list800979

Quote:
It's official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet.
Like the quiet before a storm.
This week researchers announced that a storm is coming--the most intense solar maximum in fifty years. The prediction comes from a team led by Mausumi Dikpati of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). "The next sunspot cycle will be 30% to 50% stronger than the previous one," she says. If correct, the years ahead could produce a burst of solar activity second only to the historic Solar Max of 1958.

Ironically Discovery Chanel is having a disaster thing with what would happen if such a thing happened on next Sunday, 10ET, see below:

there are the evidence about the solar storms, that cause the electronic system on earth was suffered mostly, also there were verious news in the old newspapers that solar storms cause the "all of a sudden rise in the earth's temperature also", in short these storms creates much up and down activities in the verious atmospheric periferry(s).
"sun has kept in the sky to show the different qualities always, the sun's storms are one of that kind of activity.

How exactly is this next solar storm suppose to affect the Earth?

There are really no details on the link that was provided.

1. major power cut off, 2. the electronic devices may also hamper, 3. major turn in the temperature variations on earth, 4. also cause extra temperature in the dezert cause the hot storms on earth,

this is all depending upon the severity of solar storms, I am searching some information eleswhere then later on I will provide.

It also increases the rate of water temperature making the polar Ice Caps melt faster, which will push the Gulf Stream away from it's current location making weather crazy to say the least.

that's correct dragon star, it will literally increase everything on the earth, as far the antarctica ice coatings, the ice on the himalayas, the north pole may also hamper in cutting its ice into water !

sunil ( sun is an artistic ball of gas, it can do anything possible for earth, and here in the summer we look always the "great hot incarnation of the sun " every year. )

Sun's Far side visible now......

Quote:
There's no place for the Sun to hide its face anymore.
The rotating star's far side, out of view to astronomers, has now been fully seen for the first time using data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).
HERE

The articles mentions that this new technique will allow scientists to detect potentially damaging solar storms that may be brewing on the far side of the Sun.
