Lunt 200mm Solar Telescope

OK, I just ordered my new mack daddy Lunt Solar Systems 200mm Reflector. I am totally geeked up about it (legally). Any comments? Anyone want to buy my double stacked PST after I get it?

I just checked out your website, Stephen - it's awesome! Great work - keep it up. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff when you get your new equipment.

I can't say that I'm in the market for astronomy equipment due to lack of funds, but I do enjoy others' work immensely and hope you'll continue to share. I particularly liked that blue moon photo (astro photos_12182007_440) - it is absolutely gorgeous! And I do appreciate your solar imaging - reminds me of days too long ago in my teens when I tracked sunspots.

Thank you sir or madaam. Supposedly the new Lunt 200mm has both Ha and Calcium K capability simultaneously.
Can't wait...

Still waiting for the Lunt

Well, uhh, um...I am still waiting for the 200mm Lunt Solar Scope. Uh...twiddling my thumbs while my dealer has my $5000. I was wondering whether you can goet good pictures out of a Newtonian Reflector? Any comments?

Hi,

Did you get the Lunt Solar Telescope yet? I am very interested to know what you think of it. I really enjoy my Coronado PST and can only imagine what the views through something like that will be.

Regards,

Gave up on the Lunt

Daryl,
Last week Coronado announced that they were reducing the price of the time tested SolarMax 90 to the same price as the Lunt 200mm. ($4995) So, I jumped ship and changed my order to the SolarMax 90. Lunt has no idea when they can deliver. It will be at least August so, forget it.
Anyway, I changed over to the Coronado. My buddy Tim at Camera Bug in Atlanta will have one of each of the Lunt scopes whenever they get around to actually producing something and he says he wants me to evaluate them so I will post something if they ever materialize.

Coronoado had some pretty hefty price cuts. You should really enjoy that SolarMax 90. Do you have much of a wait in getting one?
