M-66 With a 6 inch achromat

Hi Folks,
Its been a while since I have been able to get out and do some imaging,
Last night friday the 23rd I went out to my driveway setup my 6 inch f/8 achromat with a 1st quarter Moon and a street lamp 50 ft away.

This time I left out the Minus Violet filter to see if the color issues I was having was due to the Yellowish hue that the filter introduced, it was giving me nightmares with color balance.

This shot is 35-30 sec subs and 45-21.2 sec subs unguided with a 0.5X focal reducer. transparency was a 4 on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being the worst.
I have to play with it in photoshop 7.0, which I am still learning to use,
There is some CA evident, as soon as I can figure out how to remove the blue halos around the brighter stars and, I learn how to layer and, reduce star bloat I hope to get a better Image

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Nice image.

I am a little jealous. The jealousy stems from the fact you can see the sky and you are getting a chance to image. I don't know if I can remember how to setup my telescope for imaging its been so long.

Regards,
