Took this picture tonight around 8:45 pm mountain time.
Its a cold winter night in Edmonton Alberta , Its around Minus 20 Celcius ,as you can see the chimney steam rising.
I was sitting inside and logged on to
www.spaceweather.com
and suddeny,lt made me realize , that the Moon and Saturn were up there.
So I raced outside just in time.In between cloud cover .
Happy Groundhog Day .
I used a Canon Rebel XT, with the standard 18-55mm lens it came with.
I found if I focused in on the Moon , it washed out Saturn , so I did a bit slower exposure at around .3 second and .4 second. and enough light from Saturn comes thru.
These turned out the best for me, with my limited experience at this.
The trained eye will detect 4 stars in the picture too, the 4th being a test.
I came back to edit that maybe in this photo you may not see 4 stars but in the original you can
