Hi Dave, Your on the right track! after i made some changes i had to drift align and still at it, my m51 and m83 are the results but still have some drift. So keep at it with a guide sys. you could bring in out too 1-2min by using the drift method you will increase your exposure times. is the mount stationary? Any questions feel free to ask And Thanks for your rating, I believe there is something wrong in replys/comments at the gallery. i have posted but says i didnt hmm. oh well. |

| M 51 question?
Where do you live? Do you have much light pollution ? Was this taken with a SLR type camera? Do you use a focal reducer? Do you stack Images? I live in Edmonton Alberta and I cannot use my Canon for any exposures like that , that amount of time would wash anything out. I have to go outside the city to get anything in the way of pictures. I was thinking of getting the new Canon with the real time viewing on the back screen , that makes focusing easier.Canon can keep their stuff , Im getting a Mallincam after using one a few weeks back. I do like the M51 and M31 is another one I like too. Dave |

[quote=dpab;5608]Where do you live? Do you have much light pollution ? Was this taken with a SLR type camera? Do you use a focal reducer? Do you stack Images? Hi Dave, I live in a small market town in rural Oxfordshire, England and light pollution is not too bad apart that is for a amber street light some 75mt away to the south and also some times people's need to light up there gardens all night with security lights!! On those night I just give up ![]() My camera is a Meade DSI 1 colour on a LX90 8in and yes I did use a 3-3 FR. and images were stacked with envisage. Cheers Dave. |
