Explosions On The Moon

HI Everyone,

I remember a while back, actually almost 6 years now, that observers started reporting seeing flashes on the Moon.

Most folks thought that these people were imagining these flashes, well now we know what is responsible for all those reports, check it out, SPACE.com -- 100 Explosions Recorded on the Moon

Kind of puts a damper on living on the surface to some extent, the article also has some ideas on how to protect any possible permanent bases.

Any other Ideas out there?

Dennis

The secondary impacts could definitely be an issue.

I guess when they confirm the potential size of the secondary moon dust particles they will have to set off trying to design a space suit that would provide the necessary protection from these particles. I would definitely want to be in a suit that protects me from more than just the "average" size of particle.

The impact on structures from secondary blasts I would think would be easier to deal with though not without challenge given the speed the particles are traveling at.
