The intention I have is to get some good ideas for an astronomy poll that will be displayed on the home page of the site, that may be of interest to members and not just myself. I am going to configure the board so that the only poll that gets displayed on the home page is one that an administrator creates. It would be the "main" poll for the site so I want to give it the maximum exposure rather than it (and every other poll) getting bumped off the home page every time someone creates a new poll.

Start a new thread, then scroll down and select the Include poll option, then make your post. After you Submit, you'll be taken to the poll screen where you can define your poll.

Ahhh. Try it now. You'll find the option at the bottom of the page when creating a new thread. I had been messing around with poll configuration settings and left it turned off.
