Filters Filters for visual use can be a great aid in viewing the night sky if you live in an area that suffers from light pollution They also help an observer detect more detail when observing planets and deep-sky objects. Discuss filters here.

Arrow About filters

Once upon a time when I went for the seminar on astronomy at one place, there was a very newer member present besides me, the topic was filters, he ask me, the filters are mostly use to filter the coffee and tea itself, what is the role of filters here in the astronomy. ( I was kept the great pressure of laugh in my mouth by keeping the leaps intact)

but many people I have seen while looking the sun eclipse without a standard filters to their telescope, when I asked them " is it inbuild in the telescope", that fellow replied me that " the telescope company forgot to mount the filter on the lense.
