Hi Darryl,
thanks for keeping you eyes open on this one, i have reviewed around 1,000 images and I have only found 1 thats promising.
I did get a response from Professor Zolt Levay, of the European Space Agency, he has reviewed my data allof the postings here at this site and is very interested in this dilema.
I'm glad that i have a key scientist in the right place to make sense of all of this. if I am wrong (which i believe I'm not) at least we should get credit for correcting a plate defect that has been around for 50 yrs plus,
here is what he wrote back:

will look into this, have to dig up some old files and notes. May have to wait until I get back to the office tomorrow.
