Thanks everyone!
I will be headed to Our Observatory tommorow friday nite.
I have downloaded all of the DSS images in all bands available J,G,R,B,IR etc: etc:
I am in the process of flipping and inverting all the shots from the DSS and 2mass surveys, and saving them to my laptop, Im sure there will be a couple of Pros on site that can help me with the IAU submission.

I am going to scrutinize every plate tonight, this seems to good to be true.
This cant happen to me! I have been sitting on this photo since last fall!
Doh!
Once I finish scrutinizing every plate myself, and Im 100% sure, I will post the comparison shots on this website and this website only.
I still dont believe it!
Dennis

Ok Im confused folks,
It looks like my discovery just may pan out after all.
I have never been this lucky, go figure, I uploaded this shot on this forum last fall when I first took the shot.
here are the 2MASS and SDSS shots along with my shot I have circled the suspect on both my shot and the survey shots.
so here is my evidence

Hi folks I just thought I would let everyone know that so far all of the pros that I have consulted, or at least people with much more knowledge than myself, seem to agree, so I did fire off another more precise e-mail to the AAVSO.
Now its a waiting game for sure, I wonder how long validation and Verification will take?
the suspense is killing me, but I am not keeping my hopes up on this one!

Possible Variable Star Discovery

HEllo everyone!

After talking with the AAVSO on the phone today, I was able to submit my info on the possible new red variable that I may have found near M-51.
After speaking with Elizabeth, at the AAVSO, she said it would be a good idea to put the word out to other imagers to see if anyone else has captured the star in question.
She also stated that I may be in for a long project ,to acquire as many images past, present, and future, of the region in question,as this may help further this possible discovery, to confirm, or to rule out this anamoly.

So I ask all of you imagers that have taken images of m-51 to review or post your images of M-51, or to report any concurring images that show the star in question.
I include here my image, and the dss1r band taken back in 1956.
And a great big thank you to all of you in advance that can help with your images
Dennis
