Anybody use a Mallincam?

I just bought the Hyper Plus Color version. I've used it a few times and am still learning how to use it. I think it's quite good but I am still new at this CCD thing.

Hi Doug,

I have never heard of this particular camera, can you give us some details such as, pixel size, array size, does it have passive cooling or active cooling, did it come with any software, and finally is this camera a CCD or a CMOS?

what are you using for a scope with this camera?

Dennis

For specs, I'll send you to the website. http://mallincam.tripod.com/
I'm using a Mead LX200GPS with it. I'm just beginning to learn how to use it.

Hi Phillip,

I can't say I know of anyone that frequents the forums here that has any experience with the Mallincam. Once you get the operational side of things under control, please make a post of your findings. Some images would be great.

Regards,

Hows the Mallincam going?

I was wondering how your use of the Mallincam is going.
Last night we were out in Edmonton for a second night of Sidewalk Astronomy day.
My buddy had the mallincam with him and we connected to my C-11 and tuned to M51 and even with the light pollution you could see the bridge between the 2 galaxies and detail in the arms .This thing is excellent for public viewing too.
Damn ,now I really want one .
post some of the pictures you have taken if you have any.
Needed a power inverter as it took a 120 volt power source.
But as far as I am concerned it blows the Canon XT Rebel I use outta here for ease of use and on screen menus and you can see what your focusing live not squinting through the Canon ....its a must have ..

I am not on commission.....ha
