Meade DSI Pro Images

I have posted some of my first pictures that I took with the Meade DSI Pro monochrome CCD camera in the Members photo gallery.

These are a few of the first pictures I took with the DSI Pro CCD camera this past summer. There was no post processing to the images other than resizing them when they were uploaded to the members astrophotography gallery. I look forward to getting out some more once the weather cooperates, and being on the north west coast I could be in for a bit of a wait before I get another chance to do some astrophotography.

Very nice pics Darryl! Is the object that can be seen In the background of the first pic (Spiral Galaxy in the constelation Pegasus) another galaxy?

Diana
There are two fuzzy objects that you see below NGC 7331 (the big galaxy). The first to the bottom right and slightly bigger of the two is the galaxy NGC 7335. The other slightly smaller fuzzy object close to NGC 7335 is NGC 7336.

Your pictures are all very good. The moon picture is especially good. I enjoyed looking at them.

If you can't wait for the DSI Pro...well don't .

Get this instead...it comes in color or monochrome.

Deep Sky Imager II™The user-friendly astrophotography revolution continues. Introducing the new DSI II. It combines ease-of-use with a larger chip, greater sensitivity, higher resolution, and dramatically lower thermal noise. Meade engineers have invented a remarkable new way to reduce noise without a cooler. This means you can take exposures for hours at a time. And the new thermal monitoring sensors automatically match your dark frames to ambient temperature so it’s nearly impossible to take an uncalibrated picture. The software includes a new zoom feature for easier focusing and the squared pixels of the new larger chip make processing simpler and images more beautiful than ever. The DSI II is the world’s first un-cooled camera with low thermal noise. And that’s as cool as it gets. • Dramatically lower noise
Larger ( 1 /2”) chip
74% higher resolution (752 x 582)
Greater sensitivity
Temperature sensor

The monochrome will be more sensitive and also more time consuming. It will also involve more post processing than the one shot color. This assumes of course you are using the color filter set with the monochrome version.

I am trying to hold out. I still have the original DSI Pro and haven't really used it to its full potential yet. I might wait for the next model, the one after the DSI Pro II.

ccd cameras are technically more upgraded, what will be the next version or design of the futures ccd cameras, may be relatively more powerful than of todays. pics are cute one above.
