Remember what happened on "Space: 1999"???

On more serious note, the idea itself is not as dumb as it seems from the first sight. First of all, ozzmoziz, I hate to be picky, but... Moon IS dead. You can't kill it any further. It's even unterraformable. The best we can use it for is mining, and even that would be restricted to polar regions, as it's simply too hot/too cold on Moon's equator. Well, unless we use robots, which don't care about pollution anyway.

So I'm not against landing some of the dangerous matterials on the Moon and leaving it there. Just not in the proximity of polar regions, and it should be OK. By the way, jetisoning it to Jupiter or Sun wouldn't be bad idea as well. These are unterraformable, even more so, they are not minable, so are even better targets for being the waste bin than Moon.
