Pictures Of Jupiter

There are amazing Jupiter Pictures in the astrophotography gallery which have been uploaded by Jaicao Jaicoa Gallery - Extreme Astronomy Image Gallery. These images of Jupiter rival the best I have seen from any amateur astronomer or astrophotographer.

Jaicoa uses a 10 inch Meade LX200GPS telescope, Celestron CGE mount, and an Imaging Source DMK 21AF04.AS monochrome firewire CCD camera with Astronomik's LRGB filter set and a Televue Powermate 2.5x barlow. He takes these wonderful images of this gas giant from his observatory in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It has a diameter which is more than 11 times that of earth at an astounding 142,940 thousand kilometers. It is a mass of gas and liquid with next to no solid surface. It takes Jupiter almost 12 years to orbit the sun once. If you want to know more about Jupiter you can visit here NASA - Jupiter.
