Hi Dennis,
It's a good name. I think I read on the site somewhere that to name GLAST after a scientist or person the individual had to be deceased. I found it, here it is "In keeping with NASA tradition, the satellite will not be named after a person who is still living." I guess it would be ok if you were betting the person wouldn't be around by the time they get to naming the GLAST telescope. I make no reflection on the name you suggested with this comment.
