How about giving a new name to the
Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST). I know some of you may you will be interested in putting your two cents in to giving this telescope a name. Just think, you could go down in history as having named a telescope. NASA is looking for a name for their new telescope which you can submit
here. It's purpose is to look for some of the most violent and powerful energy discharges and interactions in our Universe.
The events and objects that this telescope will be used to research will be such things as the origin of cosmic rays, study solar flares from our sun, and pulsars. It will also look for and study Gamma Ray Bursts which are some of the most powerful events in our Universe as well as the jets from black holes that accelerate matter to almost the speed of light.
So give it shot and see if you can name NASA's new telescope.
