You are absolutely correct about the parallel Universe Scenario, but here is a kicker, I'm sure you have heard of Steven Hawking's last meeting?
And I am sure you have heard of Hawking Radiation.
One of the basic principles of Physics is that information can never be lost, this is one of the problems with Black holes, Mr Hawking's last speech tried to explain this away by saying that information is not lost in a black hole because there are parallel Universes where no Black holes exist, thus no information is truly lost ,its in another parallel universe.
As expected this did not go over too well with the theorists in attendance. he has come full circle with the problem he introduced many years ago with this current theory.
